I just found out that I've got to move the bottles (or have one hell of a party) by the end of 2019-- so it's a good time to start an inventory spreadsheet. Other than bottles earmarked for gifts, I've only got a single example of each-- which eliminates a wee bit of confusion. The good thing is that the new space will allow for a single secure room to house everything together (including the physical bar)-- at least that is the hope.

That would be an epic party!

It'll be one that ages me for sure. After the first day I've realized what an undertaking it will be, especially once I make it to the Amari and other liqueurs. The good news is that I'm finding plenty of bottles that I've completely forgotten about.

I have around 700 unopened bottles so I use a spreadsheet. About 80% dusties from the 70s - 90s. I know it gets off over time because I forget when I get a bottle leaving for an event so I get anal about every 2 years, pull everything out and check it against the spreadsheet. Have about 100 open bottles...

Do you do anything special to put an additional seal on those old bottles? How bout the corks? I guess if you're drinking 30yr old + bourbon you don't worry bout the little stuff.
