Any good reads you guys would recommend regarding history of bourbon, distilling, or whisky in general?  I've seen a few around BT distillery but wasn't sure if there were any good coffee table reads to look over when sipping?

Appreciate your thoughts!

Thanks,

There is a book I really like - The Social History Of Bourbon.

It was published in the early 1960s.  My copy belonged to my wife's grandfather.

If you are interested in what was going on from colonial times to 1962 or so; it's a great read.

I enjoyed Fred Minnick's Bourbon Curious,    It provides both some interesting history as well as flavor analysis for most of the current bourbon brands.    I like the way it groups bourbons with respect to their flavor characteristics (e.g., caramel-forwards,  nutmeg-forward,  grain-forward)  rather than just rye vs. wheated mashbills.
