What’s the availability and price of this in different markets? I’m a big fan at $35 but it’s rare I see a bottle and when I do it’s $45 to $50 now.

About $42 here usually when I see it, but haven't for a while. It's a good bottle, but if it's getting up to $50 I would grab a Full Proof instead.

BIB is $44.99 here, available every so often, but now in the case. See a lot of Single Barrel for $37.99. Bought the only 12 year I saw at $54.99. Have yet to see the High Rye, Sweet Wheat, or Full Proof.

It's listed on the ABC website for $39.99 but the nearest available is a store 42 miles from me with 1 bottle listed for sale. The next nearest store which also only has 1 bottle available is 104 miles away. No others are listed (except for the store in Alexandria which is only for those with a liquor license).

I was gifted a bottle for Christmas that a friend had picked up in TN.  I have no idea what he paid for it, but it is a well done, finely balanced pour.

IMO, more enjoyable and much better balanced than any FP bottle that I've had (private selection, or not) to date.

That’s been my experience too. It sounds like full proof pricing might be worth it when it can be found.

I have both. The BIB is good, but maybe overpriced  past $40. The single barrel is better, and has a banana taste to it. I'd go for that if you can find it.

This was my initial impression as well. However, the more time I spend with FP, and FP store picks, the more it has grown on me. BIB at 100 proof is easier to drink for sure, perhaps more balanced, but less interesting and enjoyable than FP for me. Maybe I've just been lucky with store picks, but the one standard FP bottle I had was really good too. My preference flipped about mid-way through my first bottle of FP, like most barrel proof bottles it tends to benefit from a bit of air time. In any case FP tends to be easier to find than BIB in my area, so it's rarely a decision I need to make.

Since the 12 was mentioned, I just cracked a bottle of this and it is really nice. I over paid for it (about $90) but don't regret it in the slightest.

In the VA ABCs, BIB's run around $40, and VA ABC stores will let you "order" it if the local store doesn't have it (which is typical) but even then I've been disappointed with a "not on shelf" response after a week of anticipation so I now just wait to see it.  The FP is $49 but is "in store" only but seems to sit there a little longer, maybe because it gets sent to fewer stores.

IN WashDC, the prices are about the same to slightly higher, but I've never ordered it.

The FP to me is rougher than the BIB, and I find myself taking the FP proof down to 100-105 with water more often than not [EDIT - as I am currently doing with a bottle I opened Christmas Day].  The ASmith Bowmans are readily available here (except for the LEs, of course), and I usually go with them instead of hunting for the 1792 when I want that relatively broad but "dry" Barton profile.  As 0895 noted, VOB 100 (which is sweeter to me and, I must admit, preferred by me) now runs about $18 in WashDC and is about as easy to find.  Hence, my bunker has more VOB.

$45 for the 1st two I bought down here because the LS had me on the list to set a couple aside for (last yr/season).  $35-40 for the rest I've stocked up on since then (and no more from that LS).
