I reached back in the cabinet and pulled out a not that oldie but a real goody... I’m surprised this bottle is not empty, I love this rye..

Maybe not sexy or exotic but this is such a solid pour. I was able to network a much needed transfer/promotion for one of our analysts at work. As a thank you after lunch we took a trip to TW an

Just checking in to say hello, enjoying a pour of DSP354 Rittenhouse that tastes simply magical at the moment.

I recently rescued a 3 year old chocolate lab. With life paused I have a lot of time to walk him. Started making cocktails for the afternoon strolls. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy this!

Pikesville 110 rye in Manhattans with dinner tonight.  Only about 1.4 OZ. left so I put it with two ice cubes in a Glencairn to finish the bottle while watching "How the Universe Ends".  How appropriate.  Tomorrow early we are going to go pick up prescriptions, hit the ATM, and stop by a grocery store or four but not in that order.  Is a spirits store in our future since a restaurant is not?  One can only hope.

0895, you inspired me to finish off the night with KO batch one. I should have picked up one or two more when I had the chance. Very good Rye.

Actually, no.

I was late to the SAOS rye game.

Hmmmm. Curious.    ?    One store here received some SAOS a while back. All were James. I’d hate to think Sarah no longer works there. ?

The rye party continues again tonight.  Really feeling it here lately.

some samples I’ve been hanging onto for awhile.  Today’s the day!

The 18y mgp rye is something.

I don’t think I’d pay the $400 or whatever the retail price for it was,  but I’m thoroughly enjoying the sample.

The two are similar, but unsurprisingly the 18 has a lot more oak/wood flavors.  It’s also more mellowed out.

The 10 year is like taking a shot out of your baking spice cabinet.

Tried something new last night - LAWS San Luis Valley Straight Rye 6 yr Bonded.  Wow - first impressions were strong.  Lemongrass, mint and honey on the nose, and a really thick and viscous mouthfeel of orange marmalade, rye toast, and some spices.  I haven't been a fan of the majority of 'craft' products, but as those who are doing it right (namely using 53 gal barrels) get some aged stock - might start to see some delicious stuff out there!

Starting week #3 (or maybe 4, I'm already starting to lose track) of work from home. The weekends are blurring with the weekdays. In an effort to stretch this weekend out as far as possible, one last weekend whiskey session.

CEHT Rye it is for the nightcap while listening to U2's Joshua Tree on the main system in the mancave.

Nice.

One of my fondest memories was going to see the Joshua Tree anniversary tour in Louisville back in 2017.
