Another article scientifically demonstrating that the secondary market is filled with counterfeits.  This should come as no surprise as counterfeiters have been faking high-end wine for centuries.   Wine, scotch or bourbon - it makes no difference to the criminal what they knock off so long as there's a pay day from some unsuspecting dupe.  Don't be that guy who drops big bucks and ends up pouring Jim Beam from a PVW bottle.

Me:  Professor, you say you have some news for me on the authenticity of the Very Very Old Fitzgerald 15 yr I just purchased for $5,000?

Professor Proton:  Yes Joey.  The good news is that we have scientifically determined through infrared spectroscopy and chemical analysis of the Carbon 14 contained in it that your bottle is indeed an early 1950s distilled bourbon.

Me:  Uh, is there bad news???

PP:  Ummm...yeah...it’s loaded with nuclear fallout...
