I recently opened up a bottled of Batch 7 Stagg Jr and the cork is crumbling at the mere touch of the surface.

I was hoping that someone here can help me out if they have any spare Stagg Jr corks.

I (& I think many others) find keeping the corks from empties, at least 'til you have a good selection of sizes stored away, is cheap (FREE!) insurance against the inevitable issue; such as the one you're now having, clearmoon 247.  ?

A word to the wise?

Contact buffalo trace and they will send you a brand new cork. I had it happen to a rock hill farms and emailed them pretty late after a couple of bourbons lol. To my surprise I received a nice email asking for my address to send a brand new cork. They are good people.

Cheers!

heaven hill used to do this as well for the old ECBP corks that would shrink over time.

I did start out by reaching out to Buffalo Trace. I wasn't sure if they would actually help out like that.

I initially asked for an empty bottle, but they told me they couldn’t send an empty bottle in the mail. That’s when they told me they would send me the cork and apologized for the inconvenience. Got it within a couple days.
