Kyjd75
Really? Ok, I did not know this, and I apologize to my good friend CardsandBourbon. But now that I have this opening, I did try the new 16 yr, KC single barrel that I had obtained a few days ago this afternoon. In a nutshell, very, very good. Definitely some wood present. But if you like old KC then you will like this one. I for one like some oakiness with my bourbon, and this KC has that in spades. I am very pleased. CardsandBourbon
OK. You both embarrassed me. I shall go downstairs to the bar and open something tonight and then shamefully report back to you. Wish I could have grabbed one of the 16 year KC bottles. I love the older KC stuff.

elmossle
Finishing off my first week as teacher daddy with the kids at home for the next 3 weeks. That coupled with wanting to make sure I keep at least 60% alcohol in the veins, I opened some Stagg Jr. and ECBP C918 this afternoon. Cheers to more bourbon this weekend!
Vosgar
My goodness this is a spectacular bourbon. Puts the 2012 I have open to shame (sorry Steve). Nose it once and you know you've got FR, but amped up to 11. Vanilla, cherry and some dark chocolate along with more goodies I can't identify (not too good at that). I believe this was the last one that JR was involved with and boy did he go out on top!

CardsandBourbon
OK. Bottle opened (I hope you're happy Vosgar & smokinjoe). Recently picked up a bottle of Fighting Cock and decided that would be the pour de jour (it rhymes . . . get it). Anyway I really enjoyed it while watching Secretariat. Kepler
We already had a "What bottle did you open today 2020" thread that could be used for the whole year. I don't get this race to be the first to create new threads.

It worked out exceptionally well and it was so good to see the familiar faces of my co-workers. We may have to do a virtual gazebo in late April.
