When making recent purchase guy ahead of me had Dickel Barrel Select and I'm easily influenced so bought one, too. Tonight was planning more EC tests but opted instead for the Dickel. 1st glass as expected, vitamin let down with resolve to either suffer through it or let bottle sit in larder for 15 years. 2nd glass, wow, astounded. 3rd glass, I'll pass on pappy 20 to get 4th glass of this. So..... you have covid then?

Sgtspitter101
Mixed some ogd100 2 parts with 1 part rr10. Very enjoyable blend, i can pick out notes from each but a green apple note is sticking out.

mbroo5880i
Crazy week. Adult son totaled car in an accident. He is fine. Car is not. Young neighbor passed away in her sleep. She was a single mother with a young son. Great neighbor. So sad. Had cataract surgery on both eyes (Wednesday and Thursday). Vision back to 20/20. Cleared for work 24-hours after surgery. Modern technology is amazing. When I was a kid, people who had cataract surgery had to wear bottle cap glasses after surgery. Now with intraocular lens, I won't need glasses. Morale of the story...wear proper uV protection. Now seeing depth of colors and clarity that I haven't seen in years. I need some bourbon. Started with FR SiB. Finishing with FR SiB. No, I didn't finish the bottle. Each pour in moderation. Just enjoy the FR profile and relaxing.

But...Once we get past this shit year of 2020, you’ll be able to say that it was the year your vision was cured to...20/20...Embrace the silver lining, my friend!

Jazzhead
Tonight it's a Wilderness Trail (rye recipe bourbon), just after a Russell's Reserve Single Barrell. Interesting the contrast in flavors. The really good craft bourbons have a burly, almost fudge ripple taste, like Garrison Brothers and this Wilderness trail. But in the well-aged RR the ripple's turned to fine dark chocolate, flinty and mean.
dad-proof
A housewarming gift from a neighbor I've gotten to know during our renovation before moving in. Good guy, very much appreciated gift. Shared a couple pours with him a few days ago, and enjoyed another pout last night at the fire pit.

Things are getting back to normal. Cars can be replaced. Eye sight continues to improve. Now, I need to decide what to pour tonight while decorating the Christmas tree, making last minute Fantasy Football trades (deadline tonight), and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Don't judge. I have the Hallmark formula down. This allows me to surf the internet and not worry if I miss big chunks of the movie. Not that I would be all that worried in the first place.
Jfletchgu
Found two bottles of this the other day for 21 bucks each when doing a little bourbon hunting. Such an excellent budget pour. Unfortunately it seems to be getting harder and harder to find.

Patrick_OKC
Still working the first of two bottles of Orphan Barrel Barterhouse that I bought in 2014. Will likely not be opening the second barrel for a number of years. Not really bad stuff, I just reach for other bottles instead. Pat

Gonna wait a couple of weeks before starting to watch their Xmas movies though. Even my wife agrees with that.

Lifetime movies teach you how to kill him.

My dad insists on waiting until the day after Thanksgiving for anything Christmas related and my mom chomping at the bit to get started. When I was a kid I'd always sneak in a Christmas record on Thanksgiving day and my dad would feign abuse. Good memories.

We didn't decorate at all last year due to big remodel. Not sure what we are doing this year. Won't likely be anyone but us that will see whatever we do. Fortunately, my sister had similar surgery a few months ago so I knew what to expect as far as the procedure. What I wasn't prepared for, despite her raving about improved clarity and bright colors, was just how distinct those improvements would be. My vision must have more impaired than I realized. I guess over time you just adjust to changes in vision. I wish you the best as you consider the surgery. At this point, I am pleased with the results 2-3 days out. Tonight's opening pour is Knob Creek 9 Year. I am sure there will be a follow up or two. I am eyeing the bottle of Remus Repeal Reserve so that might get a little taste.

I believe they quarantined the actors and filmmaking crews in Canada during the pandemic and then whipped out about one each week.
