Oldest bottle of bourbon

Recommended Posts

Here's the thing, back in those days bottles were not made by machine.  They were hand made.  A bottle was valuable and was used over and over.  Whiskey was sold from barrels.  Customers often brought their own vessel and got it filled.  Whatever is embossed on the bottle only indicated where the bottle was originally destined.  There was no tax seal, foil, or any type of tamper resistant cover over the cork.

The date on this pre prohibition bottle in my collection is 1916.

Of course it's for medicinal purposes only!
