That glass is really cool.

The OF brands tend to be some of my favorites (lately OF 100 and Rye).  The only notable exception were some of the last batches of "Signature" (when the Whiskey Row series came out).

Started with OF 1920, now a ECBP C922, outside on a beautiful afternoon here on  the east end!! Had some Blanton's Gold yesterday. Life is good....

Minor side note: Thank God (and capitalism) for new tech. My Dad (75) tells me what dentists were like back in The Day. I'll not like the visits, but I think I'll take the modern over the old in this case. A thing to be thankful for.

Well said, indeed.  Life is full of the good and bad times.  Having the two so close together helped soften the blow a little.  We are moving on in a positive direction.

 

BTW, I have a good endodontist and I can vouch for modern anesthesia and techniques.  Not something I look forward to, mind you.

 

On topic, today was a standard pour of some Dant.  I am starting to ration mine, as it is getting a little harder to find around here.

KC9 again tonight.  As long as it is $19.99 a bottle, I will make it my daily drinker.  It is easily in my top 5 regular bourbons.  On the cheap, yes please.

Same.

I've had a couple pours and it drinks hot. Water doesn't tame it enough.  I'll revisit it down the road.

Had 2 healthy pours of OFSBBS last night. I like this bottle quite a lot. It is admittedly hot. But with wee sips, there's a lot of flavor and a great mouthfeel, a good trade off in my view. Will have to try it side by side with 1920.

 

A friend who is a big OF fan swears by Warehouse K on the SiB. I have not yet tested that idea either.

 

Looks like some OF side-by-sides are in order.

Had a WT 101, now a ECBP C922 with 3 drops of water. In this heat, it sweetens it up a bit. Cannot get my head around adding ice to bourbon. Tried a freezer bottle but we did not agree. Maybe I am to old and set in my tastes!

Opened a KC9 for the 1st time in a couple years. Have had an opened 12yr fairly regularly during that idle time. Definitely nothing wrong with the 9 for my Monday sipper...

Having a pour of the regular EC.  I drink alot of HH stuff but don't pick this one up very often, but the bottles always go fast when they are open.

While I enjoyed EC12, EC NAS is a solid bourbon in its own right.  I rarely purchase a bottle but I enjoy both EC and EC Rye.

I am enjoying a pour of KC9 for the first time since....yesterday.  I love it.  I actually prefer it over KC12, which I do enjoy as a special treat.

Yeah you might be onto something about KC9 > KC12.  I've never actually compared them sbs, but KC9 always hits the spot.

Obviously this is not a bourbon but I am loving this pour so much right now, I don't care.  Good stuff.

I tried to compare them SBS but it was immediately clear which one was the 12-yr so I couldn't be impartial.  I love KC but was not super impressed with the 12; at least not as significantly better than the 9.

Whelp. There'll be another drinking pause. Getting the plasma injection to the knee and the sawbones gave me the usual Don't Do Anything You Like list.
