Harry in WashDC
Got up early (for me - 8AM) so I could work in the yard before the heat hit. Spent a good two hours pulling wild grape vines, honeysuckle, several tiny trees, and some sticker vines out of my ancient PJM rhododendrons which have gone untended for about five years. Celebrating the successful liberation while watching the Nats at home winning 9-4 in the 3rd over the Cards by having Weihenstephaner Pilsners - yes, indeed, more than one Pils.
MM818
This has been in the fridge longer than I wanted. Might have lost some freshness but this Blueberry Tart Ale is spectacular.
smokinjoe
Hotter than Hades this weekend here, in the Deep South. Lots of shade sittin’ with a fan seeking creature comforts with a couple Creature Comforts Bigger Dreams Hazy IPA…

At 9.5%, this may induce front patio nappin’ on the swing in the shade… How does that compare to their Celebration?
MM818
I was in need of a pick me up early afternoon and noticed a storefront named, “Corks & Coffee.” Stepped in to find an espresso machine, dynamite blueberry scones, and a 4 pack of Great Notion. GN is an immediate buy whenever I come across it. Don’t know if the double shot, scone, or this balanced hazy gets top billing. Might be the best $17 I’ve spent in a long time. (Now that I think about it I ripped C&C off!)

scratchline
Spent a perfect day on the MA South Coast yesterday. Came back with a couple of sixes of this. Perfect summer crusher! Stellwagen is a small op but they make some very good beer. Invisible Airwaves is a favorite. Edited July 20, 2024 by scratchline

I think I got that as a souvenir glass at the Pabst mansion tour in Milwaukee many years ago. It's a small glass but I like drinking out of it. Come to think of it, once I drink more of these Millers I may need to replace them with a 6 pack of PBR.

scratchline
A little early but damn is this good! Truly quaffable: "to drink or swallow in large draughts," 1510s (implied in quaffer), a word of obscure origin, perhaps imitative, or perhaps from Low German quassen "to overindulge (in food and drink)," with -ss- misread as -ff-. Related: Quaffed; quaffer; quaffing. The noun, "act of quaffing; the amount of liquor drunk at once," is attested by 1570s, from the verb.

MM818
Back home after a hike on the trail with the dog. Cut short because my dog ran up on a 4 foot rattlesnake sunning itself in the western sun. Woke it up with her snout, caused the snake to recoil into striking position (that gave them space), and thankfully, my dog listened to me and backed away. so, went with a heavier beer to start the weekend. Gigantic Brewing out of PDX. Got this pineapple, tropical thing going on! Edited August 17, 2024 by MM818

I buy a lot of Octoberfest beer in the fall to stockpile to enjoy into spring. If I had more space in the house, I would stash enough cases to last until the following fall. Alas…………… Come on fall…..
