0895
priced at/close to retail (its hard to read because of the glare). Neat to see stuff starting to sit around again in the wild. Edited November 9, 2024 by 0895

VWIndy
For some reason it makes me chuckle when you hear a cheap bastard get pissed when they think they overpaid:}. It reminds me of my dad weaving a tapestry of profanity when he thought he paid to much for gas. Enjoy fellas

We have no control over how the world tries to continually rip us off. We can only respond with emotionally primordial screams of frustration when it occurs. Sometimes despite our best efforts we cannot overcome the evil doers who try to pluck change from our coin purse. Yet, we celebrate when we beat the system that tugs at our very existence. Win some, lose some.
mbroo5880i
I am probably a candidate for a nut punch for passing on Bookers 2024-03 for $86 and Rebel 10 for $62. I could have bought both at a 15% discount ($73/$53) if I bought 6 bottles. I was second guessing myself as I was leaving the parking lot. My excuse, weak that it is, was that I was blasting through the store doing weekly grocery shopping on my lunch hour and the store has had a few other bottles higher on my preference list that I am hoping will show up again soon.

markandrex
I hit two LS after a trip out for vacations. One had: ORVW. - $629.99 ETL - $229.99 RHF - $269.99 OFBB - $599.99 Nope. The second did not have similar but did have reasonable prices and a pair came home with me.
markandrex
I forgot to mention a stop earlier in the week that had 3 barrel choices of Willett purple top. At 11 years for $500/each. He looked at me like I was crazy when I told him the last purple top I bought was $90.

I stopped in the same store today to buy goat cheese. The Bookers was repriced to $99. I passed on it and a shelf full of EWB Single Barrel. I haven't bought EWBSiB in years and even though the price was reasonable the last iterations that I have had has put it on the "never again" list. That's a shame. It was once a great bourbon. I want to say it was 2016 vintage so 7-8 years old.

I want to say it was 2016 vintage so 7-8 years old. Back when EWSB was bottled at 10 years old, it was an interesting and easy drinking pour. The only problem at that time was all the other stuff available in the same price range. Lower age EWSB taste very average to me, not a premium product. I pass it too.

I guess I kind of suck at this whole not buying thing. Edited November 21, 2024 by Skinsfan1311

I suffer from the “if it’s there” syndrome. Over the last year or so, allocated items have been showing up with a little more regularity. So, if it’s there and at or near msrp, I’ll bite. Weller Whore that I am, I currently have more bottles of Blanton’s than I do Weller SR. 🫨 Weller SR: 1 open and 3 in the cabinet. Blanton’s: 1 open and 4 in the bunker. Oh, and one Blanton’s Gold too. Also and FWIW, I just got a Binny’s email. They have MM 1.75’s on sale for $37.99. Plus for another 1¢ you can get a jar of peanuts too.
