I've always found my bottle of this unremarkable but not subpar.  Just a really soft flavor that is kind of boring.  Anymore I tend to only reach for it on evenings after I had spicy food for dinner and I want a soft pour.

With regard to spicy food: Had a very nice Fryeday yesterday. Had some spicy food after the majority of pours, then returns for a few more. Of course the palate was completely changed.

 

Fixed the problem by having some delicious Commie Ice Cream. Palate restored.

 

PS: We do not normally have Commie Ice Cream in the house. Daughter is here and foolishly left hers in the freezer.

Lucky Seven 14y. This bottle came very highly recommended from my local Louisville friend. Indeed, he bought 2 on the theory "you're gonna love it, just take one already". So we'll find out!

I didn't write it down, so I can't prove it, but I definitely thought it over and decided you probably meant ben and Jerry's!

 

The native Indians had a terrible history after the Spanish conquistadors landed. They got 400 years of diseases and viruses delivered after the first handshake. As to Hamas... just say no!

Warning thread drift -

This is a true story.  My aunt traveled to the USSR as a tourist, back in the mid 1970s.  Very few foreigners visited back then.  There were sights to see, but she said anything you were allowed to buy was unavailable or awful.  The one exception, she said they had good ice cream.

I picked up the new Fall 2019 Chattanooga BiB release.  I'm really liking this one.  This makes my 9th different Chattanooga variation that I've had and this one is one of my favorites already.  I've already done some damage to this bottle

P.S.   I finally figured out why I didn't care for my first Chatt BiB which was the Spring 2017 release:  that batch contained 17% peated malt in the batch.  No wonder it tasted unusual for a bourbon to me.  Btw it made the best Old Fashioned I've ever constructed myself.

 

 This Fall '19 release contains the mix of recipes that I enjoy from Chattanooga, so when I figured this out, it was an easy decision to pull the trigger on a new BiB.  Mystery solved!  I will probably purchase a bottle of the previous release (Spring 2019) now as well because I like the mashbill blend on that one too.

This one just came back to PR with me after visiting The Parents in Ohio, they picked it up at MSRP. Having a wee sip before Ernesto comes a knocking. I look forward to trying it against other BT products.

Since you are a big Blanton's fan, we'll see how you compare.

Back in the day (like early 2000s) when all or most of the BT brands sat around at MSRP, ETL was considered sort of a deal.  It was about half the price of standard Blanton's.  The whiskey for both is BT mash bill #2, about the same age and proof.

I have the most of the herd in the bunker, ranging from the young 375ml to the older mature 1.75ml buffalos. Since it has started showing up again in my area I didn't feel as stingy as before, so it was time to open one up.

I know what you mean @Double C's. Before the hit the fan a few years ago, I had around 15 bottles of BT in my bunker. Probably 5 or 6 of those were private selections. As I mentioned in another post, I was down to 3 bottles when it finally started showing up more often. I started buying again to restock. I currently have one bottle open and 9 in my “pen”. I recently finished a Binny’s ps, and I have one from another store in the “pen”.  Cheers!
