0895
Guess I’ll start the new thread. Forgot to open this before Christmas, but it’s still the season. Gingerbread cocoa finished bourbon. 2016 release. Delicious! (forgot to take the picture until glass #3, thus the lower fill)
NDN98
Cheers. I love Bowman, but have never been able to get my hands on an Abraham Bowman or an A. Smith Bowman.

0895
Im pretty sure 2016 was the last time any bottles of Abraham made it to my area. I believe it’s VA only now and people line up for it. Luckily I snagged 2 of these. This is the last one. It’s pretty good if you like gingerbread (as I do).

VWIndy
Between the single rickhouse and 13 year old Russell’s Reserve has sure picked it up several notches lately. Campari is also raiseing the prices on this good stuff quickly. Enjoy while you can and before the taters get to it!

Clueby
Opened a fresh OWA tonight. Fire going and Blues hockey on TV. Mrs. Clueby is finally feeling better but I know she's not 100% because she didn't want a pour.

fosmith
Last night opened my first bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye. Wow! What a monster! 133.4 proof but drinks like a hazmat. Lots of heat and spice. This is a whiskey to sip very slowly as underneath the spice and alcohol, this is pretty complex. There's a lot going on here and I did enjoy it however, it drinks more like a bourbon than a classic rye. The sweet dill and mint flavors are absent and in their place is lots of spice and banana nut bread. The spiciness reminded me somewhat of the Wild Turkey Cornerstone Rye.

You said it perfectly that it drinks more like a bourbon than a rye whiskey. I feel it's probably the best thing that JD produces.

Patrick_OKC
lots of good stuff posted tonight. Would love to even see the EW12 101 in the wild. Ha. In the stead, I opened an ETL that was winking at me from the back of the bunker. Pat
Davesnothere
I opened this Yellowstone SiB tonight. 115pf and based on the barrel date it's 5ish years old. I'm getting a lot of ethanol on the nose upfront with a nice fruity finish. On the palate it seems to be just the opposite with fruit up front and an ethanol finish. All in all it's very nice. I don't see it as my go to bourbon at around $70ish in these parts. It seems to have a Beamy profile, which I do like. If you gave this to me blind and told me it was Booker's, i wouldn't be surprised and I would say it's one of the better Booker's I've had in the last couple of years.
