So sad to see this one go. 😢 This is one of my all time favorite bourbons. I was blessed by the bourbon Gods to have been able to enjoy a”few” of these over the years. So glad I still have one left in the bunker. 🙂

Enough to make a grown man cry.

Oooh, a great one.  Condolences on your loss, but great work.

Ahh, the 2015 FRSmB LE - the last of the Jim Rutledge era.  A true example of what great bourbon could be, IMHO.  😋

Clearing out some empties, again...it's odd how frequently this seems to happen.

Yes very odd.  I've noticed the same thing myself. It's almost like our bottles have little tiny pinholes in the bottom causing them to empty by themselves.  I can't think of anything else to explain it.

I should be posting this in the "Man down, Man up" thread but, alas, I neglected to buy its replacement the other day.....

For as young as it was, it certainly didn’t show it.  Absolutely delicious bottle of MGP.

Sorry to see it go.

You know, I was thinking just today that it's about time that I opened my SAOS 7 year rye that I've had around for a few years.  Ok, your post just make me make the decision.  I'm gonna open mine in the next few weeks.  Just in time for cooler weather too.

Another Ambler down tonight.

Keen observers might notice that this barrel is only 95.8p @ cask strength.

So the flavors are quite rich and intense without any burn.

Their ryes were some of my favorite ryes of all time.  I really like high proof MGP rye.  At least the flavor profile at the time those were bottled.  I've purchased 3-5 MGP ryes over the past year or 2 trying to find that flavor only to be disappointed.

Those two bottles were both very good. Head to head when I finished them, the Old Fitz was a head above. Pun intended. 🙂 Yes, I’m a Weller Whore, but… 🙄 If this type of Old Fitz was still available today, it would always be on my shelf. 😋

Cool.  I've tasted a sample of the 7 yr before (several years ago) and it was great.  Looking forward to my bottle.

Old Forester Statesman. I bought this last year at the distillery without knowing much about it. Will not replace. It is roughly the same price as the whiskey row series but not nearly as good.

Most empties here have been noted over the last couple of weeks or so in one forum or another. All are now headed to the big brown bin except the Blanton’s. I’m not sure if I’ll keep it for a while, or give it to a guy I know that collects empty bottles. 🤔

Some bourbon history there brother.  I know you enjoyed the journey through those bottles, especially the Makers Mark where you gnawed off the label.  😀

Still solid across the board. Cheers Joe!

I recently did an inventory of my bourbon. This included checking the bottles I have stored elsewhere. I also did a little consolidating. In doing so, I was able to consolidate two boxes in to one. 🤔 Does this count as an empty? 🤣

Didn’t think I would find one of these and certainly not for $50 but I got lucky. It was very good. It’ll be missed.

Yeah, I know this was a recent purchase. I drank some, shared some, and holidays samples have been poured and are ready to go. Cheers!

My latest contributions to recycling. I'm not really into the green scene but will empty bottles if I must.
