Opted for a trip down Knob Creek this evening while waiting for the fireworks.

Seemed appropriate to let the eagle fly a bit today. Mine's not as epic as Kepler's though.

a few pours of 4RYL over ice while shooting fireworks with my boys.

Fireworks and alcohol don't mix, so chug'em before you light'em.

Celebrating the 4th with no air conditioning at 99 in MEM today. Thought the Russell punch was a perfect match. Started with the 10yr then on to several RR SPs and topping it off with the 2002. Whew it's HOT!

Follow up pours later on after the GTS.  Larceny Barrel Proof 124 proof, SB ps HHSS 124.6 proof, and good ol’ WT 101.  Heckuva afternoon and evening. 😁 🇺🇸 🥳

Family, and honoring a close friend.
I cannot think of a better reason to break out The King.

Cheers

Outside or AC out? That is smoking hot!

Back to the WT 101.  We went to Pioneer Park in Mooresville last night to watch fireworks - truly outstanding fireworks show there.  And how's this, they actually did it on the 4th 👍not like so many places do the weekend before or after.  Huge crowd of people trying to leave at the same time afterward was slow going, but well worth it.

Picked up a bottle of Costco Kirkland Barton 1792 BIB today.  I hadn't tried any of the Kirkland Barton 1792 variations before so this one was a good one to try since I have had VOB BIB and 1792 BIB previously.

I had a 1792 BIB within the past year and quite enjoyed it.  It has been a few years since I have had a VOB BIB and, while I liked it, I don't recall it knocking my socks off.  However, it has been long enough ago that my perception might be different.

This pour.  The nose opened a little sweet ethanol but opened up well.  The first sip was a little hot but again it opened up well after a few minutes in the glass.  It drinks a little sweet which made the finish longer and spicier finish than I expected.  It is a solid bourbon.  I would opt for it over VOB BIB, although it would be interesting to do a blind tasting. It would be a toss up between it and 1792 BIB, although I would give a slight edge to 1792 BIB.  Although, it is irrelevant since neither it nor 1792 BIB are readily available in my area.

Some WT101 over ice waiting for the pizza to get here.  We spent the day getting the first coat of paint on the new shed.
It turned out great but I wish my boys lived closer.  I am too old for this.  The cube is large and the bottle is next to me.  Just in case.

Bourbon is the ultimate cure for muscle aches and pains.  At least, it makes you forget about them for awhile.  However, you had me at pizza.  😀

Finishing this "BT Weekend" with the namesake bourbon. First some Barrel Aged Old Fashioned made with BT. Then ending with a 375 PS.
