Grabbed my 1st one of those in 2017 for $80. Folks called it Werthers Candy bourbon & that pretty much nailed it. Got 2018 for $84, but it fell short & never ended with the ethanol. Candy there but not as prevalent. The next year LS Owner did some allocated studying and went up to $150. I haven't looked for it since and truly don't think it came around here again...

Stopped by a LS on my way home from work and sampled an Augusta store pick, bought pours of Green River full proof & Jack Daniel's 10yr.

Great night at the Legion celebrating our buddy’s birthday. We had pours of the Kirkland BIB from Barton, 1984 Dant BIB, and the ER 10 yr 101 that I mentioned earlier here. Our friends daughter brought an Oreo Cookie ice cream cake from Baskin Robbin’s. 😁

I had a little bourbon meeting last night. The theme was 100p and lower. Had some damn good pours.

Looks wonderful Lloyd. Is that bottle of Vintage Bourbon wheated? 😋

Opened the Benchmark BIB I bought recently.  I think I bought one last year but couldn't remember if I liked it.  Well, it is OK, but for about the same price ($20-$24), I can find several BIBs and 90s I like more - some a lot more.

Nose is/was nonexistent.  First sip was a bit hot and full of unidentifiable spice but nothing else noticeable.  Second one was better - tongue was a bit numb.  I haven't tried it in cocktails, but I'm guessing it would work better in fruity, even sugary mixtures rather than in basic 2 bourbon:1 liqueur plus bitters drinks.

yes, its one of the 17y wheated. No one there knew what it was, but they all loved it. The Old Charter 10y stole the show though.

I found two of them years ago. I finished one rather quickly. The other is still in the deep dark recesses of my bunker somewhere. 😉

Grabbed a couple of Bulleit SiB & poured, same. It has a reverse cherry-cola thing going on. You taste the cola 1st followed by the cherry, then the oak (kinda scrub oak, tho) with a medium-long cola finish. I bought 2 because I have always put this LS as the best picker in town. Pleased with the double pick, but will not backup the backup...

I came home with 2 Bulleit SiBs & a Baker's SiB. Not disappointed with my pickup's but  I believe I would trade ya. 😋

Got to trim the vegetatlon from the porch (one of many jobs to do now that I'm retired 🙂),   but first things first:   an early evening sip of Carl T. Huber's Signature Indiana Straight Bourbon.   4 years old, and a blend of three  and four-grain mashbills.  Especially considering the price (just 35 bucks), it's a lovely summer whiskey,  balanced and smooth as a baby's bottom.   One of the best craft distillers, INO.

I had to have a molar extracted today, and needed both a 'topical anesthetic', as well as an internal pain-killer.   Y'all can guess how this turned out, eh?    Not really being able to properly taste much, I didn't want some high-end pour.   ...But wanting something with enough oomph to do the work, I settled on a newly opened (a couple weex ago) liter of Early Times BiB.    I poured about 2-ounces over 3-big ice cubes and sipped that over about an hour and a half.      That helped some.    My mouth was still pretty sore, even 6-hours post-op, so I did that same pour again just before supper.    It's a little better now, and I'm tipsy enough to sleep, so I'm sacking out early.   G'night.

That's one of my early big misses at the very beginning of my journey.  Tasted it once and loved it.  Had a chance to buy some bottles but I hesitated.  When I went back they were gone and never seen again. I learned a valuable lesson. 🙄

BT in the glass.

Not the glass that @mbroo5880i likes, but that one is in the dishwasher, wedged between a couple of pans.. 👹

Not sure what I’m having tonight. 🤨 (It sucks getting old) I had some bourbon in a flask that I took to a sampling recently. I forgot what it was. I decided to drink the last of it tonight. FWIW, it was pretty good. 🤣

If they don't even know what it is, then maybe better to save it for a group that does and can appreciate it?

This is an underrated post.   In the spirit of SB's "Virtual Blind Tasting" forum, I'll go ahead and make a random guess.  But not sure if you even know the correct answer? 🤪

Buffalo Trace?  If not, then MM? 🤔

They have BT and MM at the  Legion, so I know that’s not what was in my flasks. I actually finished off the remnants of two flasks this week.I think the first flask was either my HH BIB Blend or ET BIB. I believe the last flask had a ps OF SB 90 proof. I put bourbon in my flasks because for a short time I was out of sample bottles. Like I’ve mentioned before, one of the guys in our group had to quit drinking because of health reasons. The rest of us gave him all our sample bottles because he wanted to share all of his open bottles with us. A few weeks of back and forth exchanges and I forgot about my flasks. Add to that my nephew and I exchanging a few samples. I also have CRS disease. 🫨

Wow, I sure haven't seen that Vintage Bourbon in a LONG time! I have a bottle of the 21 y.o. Vintage Rye that I had completely forgotten about until I saw your post.
