Oldecrow
I know RR/10 batch LL/ME is highly sought after for obvious reasons. I came across a bottle of RR single barrel that was LL/ME. Obviously bought it. Is this better than normal single barrels being a LL/ME. Or doesn’t matter since it’s a picked single barrel?
Richnimrod
For my taste buddies, it's always; "The proof is in the tasting". Why not open 'er up and find out, eh?!? Let us know what you find. By the way; Welcome to 'The Board', Oldecrow!
Oldecrow
Next weekend with a buddy I have a normal bottle of rr10, a rr10 LL/ME and this single barrel. Might as well do it right?!

VWIndy
Be interesting to see how the single barrel and the LL/ME compare! Let us know what you think. I like the 110 proof distillate. Please let us know how it turns out.

The RR10 LL/ME is reported to have some much older barrels (perhaps up to 15yr.) mixed into the batch, which is why it's sought after. The Single Barrel would probably be around 8-9yrs as most are so the LL/ME code wouldn't really indicate anything except the fill date in that case.
IamMatt
I would like to see someone compare LL/ME to the 101 70th Anniversary 8-yr juice. Even if they want to proof the 8-yr down to match the LL/ME. If I ever find a bottle of LL/ME I will do it. In the interests of science of course.

I’ll try that in the tasting this weekend with normal rr10, ll/me, and Sb ll/me

Thomm
I had known nothing about this until reading this post, then researching it through the interwebs. Sounds like a fun new activity, searching for this batch.

LL/ME first, RR single barrel second, WT 70th third and RR10 4th.
Cibearse4
Does anyone know if there is a difference between LL/ME20 and LL/ME17. I think some of the reviews I have seen online saying it was superior the the norm were all 20’s. I just found a 17 and was curious if anyone else had tried a LL/ME17. You had to go and poop in my soup, didn't ya? I checked my favorite local LS anyway. Closest I could find was an April 10, 2024 bottling. I'm sure the clerk got a kick out of watching me pick up the bottles and hold 'em down my nose in bifocal range while I rotated them slowly, then replaced each one with a dejected look and a softly muttered epithet. I'm drowning my sorrows in regular old 101 tonight. I am not worthy!

I picked up a bottle of LL/ME17 a while back and found it to be too astringent and bitter on the finish for my palate. The nose and palate entry flavors were great though. A friend sent me a sample of LL/ME20 and it was quite different that the 17 and better IMO, especially on the finish. BTW, I recently picked up a bottle of LL/MG23 that I'm enjoying quite a bit. I like it better than the LL/ME17 and almost as much as the LL/ME20.

RR10 isn’t my favorite pour and I have too many bottles as it is so I probably won’t be purchasing any more. Probably shouldn’t have gotten this one lol.
