What bourbon did you purchase this Winter 2024/25

received a belated birthday gift from my mom, which was more goodies from her KY trip a few months ago. Never tried a cask strength expression from Wilderness Trail, so hopefully it's 124pf of goodness, but at only 5yr 4m old I am a bit skeptical.

Wilderness Trail has done a great job with their own juice.  I think you might be surprised how good it will be?

Let us know when you pop the cork.

Cheers!

Stopped into a local store today while out and about.  Didn't have any bottle in mind, mainly just wanted to say hi to the manager and worker that are always there and talk about the college football playoff.  I mentioned to them that another store in a different part of town (notorious for museum prices) just got in a Blanton's Gold barrel pick and had priced it at $399.  We laughed, and the manager says "I'll sell you one right now for $199 if you promise to take your receipt in there and show it to him".

So now I'm the owner of a Blanton's Gold.  If anyone needs a Gold Letter "O" let me know :)

This jumped out at me and said, "You're kind of Beamish at times.  Why not give me a go?"

My first impressions; a little on the hot side, and very sweet.  Further research is necessary, but on another night.

I have bought a few bottles of JB SB 108 and it can be hit or miss; a few have been really good. I don't mind taking a flyer on it if the price is right, in the hopes that it's a tasty barrel.

I was bored today with no football to watch, so I decided to do something I haven't done in a long while. I went out searching for a bottle at a few different stores. My little excursion proved unsuccessful for the bottle I was hunting (WT 70 Anniversary), but I did pick up a few anyway.

Looking forward to exploring these.  I’ve long been fascinated by Four Roses’ ten recipe blend, but wasn’t quite willing to chase down expensive single-cask bottlings of all of them, some of which are very uncommon.  Great to have the chance to explore them this way.

After doing a little digging on the internet, it seems that the WT 70 anniversary is unavailable in Ohio. Anyone hazard a guess as to why..... since all the other WT products seem to be available?

Happy to find one of these.

I really like this stuff.

Hopefully the ’24 release continues to impress.

Already own one of these (same act & scene) but have not opened yet. Worth backing up at $150?

This is my third.  This will be a backup for bottle #2.

it is my favorite (barring pricing) in the Whiskey Row series.

Nose: Faint apple, cranberries, butterscotch and faint oak.

Palate:  Plum,  red currant, cranberry, graham cracker with a hint of maple

Finish:  The oak is very present, rasberry with faint graham cracker.

I hope you enjoy yours.  Cheers!
