That's still a good bet, but I want to add another suggestion: Old Town Liquors at 1529 Bardstown Road in Louisville. It's a smallish store but very nice and they make it a point to carry every American whiskey they can get, even the cats and dogs. For martini and manhattan drinkers, I also was impressed by their vermouth selection. Nice store and nice people in Louisville's most interesting neighborhood.
