Last year, we had a decent contingent at Churchill Downs. This year its at the new visitor center at Heaven Hill.

Who's in?

I also received mine in yesterday's mail. Of course, it says to RSVP by 10/1! I guess if I lived in KY, or at least within reasonable driving distance, I probably would have gotten it sooner. Still, it was a nice gesture for them to send it out.

No, you got yours the same day as I.

I opened my mail at 10PM and signed up.

I don't even know if I got in.

We had a really good time at the EWSB unveiling... It's late, I did load my pictures but not enough time to post all of them here and do it up right...

This picture is excellent of Mr. Ed and Jeff...

Ed is literally giving one of HH employees "Hell" for caring around a bottle (taking a bottle grin.gif)...All of us were laughing at him (Mr. Ed)...

We were inside the new barrel tasting room just shootin' the breeze and Ed goes behind the bar and starts to play bartender...That same guy who had the bottle is the one who ran Mr. Ed out from behind the bar grin.gif But he was nice, gave us alot of information about the tasting that will officially start (to the public) on Tuesday...

I have more pictures...I snaired, Jim Murray (Classic Bourbon, Tennessee and Rye Whiskey) and got a really good picture with our group...I also have pictures of Gary Regan (The book of Bourbon) and John Hansell (Malt Advocate) grin.gif...

Chuck was there with us grin.gif but somehow I didn't get a picture of him...Geezzzzz...Musta been drinkin' blush.gifgrin.gif

Now Gary blush.gif

You know the answer to that one grin.gif It was so good we tried to drink 'em dry last night grin.gif

The server's would bring out huge silver trays with shots of the new EWSB 95 vintage. All of us grabbed one and before she got away all of us grabbed a spare grin.gif...Then, another tray would pass thru, we hid the one's we had and grabbed a few more shots grin.gif...Then, another tray came by...We stopped her in her tracks and completely unloaded the entire tray of shots of EWSB our table...

I hoped that visitor center would have been open in time for the KBF. I will be there next year if not sooner. Lookimg forward to this year's EWSB.

Wow, we had a great time last night. We closed the place down lol.gif The visitors center is a work of art in itself, but the "barrel" tasting room is truely amazing.

The evening started with lite appetizers and drinks. A jazz ensemble provided nice evening music. At 9:00 the formal toast was made. Everyone was given a nice EWSB shot-glass with a taste of the '95 single barrel. The consensus from the group was that is was very good yum.gif We got to spend some time talking with Jim Murray and Gary Reagan and both promised they would log on to the site. Chuck was also there with lots of interesting information, especially where they were keeping the Very Very Old Fitzgerald lol.gif

Everyone needs to make this a destination during their next "Bourbon Country" trip! toast.gif
