They fetch very high prices for bottles so young but i guess its the novelty factor and also they gotta make some money quick on their investment.on another one of my forums, i was contacted by a whiskey distiller from California saying that he just finished his first batches of whiskey and is ready to sell them in small barrels for a fraction of the cost that you would pay for a finished product down the line. he was charging 150 bucks for each small barrel, i forgot the size, but i discerned that they were small enough to be carried by one person. lakegz Posted December 2, 2004 Share Posted December 2, 2004 yeah, im starting to think youre right chuck about the size because at the moment i read it, i was shocked by the high price for such an untested product. it is a novelty thing and i wonder how long these distillerys will be able to keep it up with all of the logistical factors of creating a drink as complex as bourbon.
