cowdery
WHISKY Magazine, for which I write, has a weird publication schedule in that a new issue comes out in the UK about two weeks before it appears here. The website (www.whiskymag.com) is featuring issue no. 44 now and has excerpts of the stories, but I haven't physically gotten a copy yet.In his editor's note, editor Dominic Roskrow commemorates Booker Noe, talks about this year's bourbon festival, and makes this statement about "making new friends" there:For me it was the crowd from Straightbourbon.com, who communicate with each other about great bourbon all year and then meet in Bardstown with their favourite bottles and party. Hard. Y'all made a good impression.
Gillman
A nice nod from fellow cognoscenti. I have had chats with Dominic and find him an aimiable and able editor. He is the best kind of specialist, which is someone who knows there is always more to learn and wears his knowledge lightly. In a former life he wrote for rock and roll magazines and I recall over bourbon (natch) discussing The Who with Dominic and his insights were most valuable. Loving rock and roll is not a precondition for appreciating bourbon whiskey but it doesn't hurt. Gary
jbutler
That's great news Chuck! But in all honesty, is there some alternate impression possible? I enjoyed meeting Dominic as well, and it was good to hear that Whisky Magazine will be taking a hand in the west coast Whiskeyexpo.

cowdery
A correction. The mention of Straightbourbon.com isn't in the Editor's note, it is in the article Whiskey Events: Bardstown Remembers Booker. (P. 28) Lots of pictures too.
