doc_mcCabe
I'm planning a little trip down to Ky from Chicago, probably to the Louisville area. Which bourbons should I pick up there that are unavailable outside of Ky? The Four Roses SB comes to mind. Any other reccomendations? Thanks. wadewood
AAA 10 YO, but not the 10 star version.
OneCubeOnly
It's slightly dated since it's from last year, but you might find the responses I got in this thread helpful. I'll echo some of the responses by confirming that "any bourbon you can't get at home" is a good pick.
TNbourbon
Evan Williams 1783 and Heaven Hill 10yo BIB (if you can find it). Old Fitz 1849.
Hedmans Brorsa
Never been there myself but the first one I´d go hunting for is the (for me) ultra-elusive Very Old Barton, rumoured to be in abundance in the Bluegrass state.
gr8erdane
I'll echo the VOB but since they have several versions would recommend the BIB 100 proof version.
monte
Evan Williams 1783 and Heaven Hill 10yo BIB (if you can find it). Old Fitz 1849.I second all of that... all are worthy bourbons, easy to find in KY and not that common in other places. If you're in a larger store like a Liquor Barn or Party Source, the HH 10 yr BIB should cost only $10 or so! Gotta love KY prices...Happy hunting,-monte-
bobelee
I live in Kentucky and Very Old Barton is everywhere. You can get a half gallon for about $18.00.
doc_mcCabe
Thanks--VOB is one of my favorites and I always get it when I'm there. I can't believe how inexpensive it is--which just goes to show why bourbon is such a great product, there's tremendous quality at the lower price points.
