ratcheer
Tonight, I had one of those all too rare wine experiences - a nearly perfect red dinner wine that was also inexpensive. It was a Kendall-Jackson Pinot Noir 2004 (!) that I paid approximately $10.50 for at Sam's, the Wal-Mart wholesale club. Everything came together. It was smooth and buttery with pronounced oak notes and dark fruity tones (plums, black cherries). Every bit as good as my all-time favorite, a Chateau Margeaux at a top-scale restaurant about 15 years ago.If anyone else is interested in red dinner wine (I had mine with pan broiled filets mignon), I can't give too high a recommendation for this one.Tim
