Does anyone know the year that Congress passed the resolution designating bourbon whisky as a distinctive product of the US? Thanx for helping me out.

In 1964, Senator Thruston Morton and Representative John C. Watts of Kentucky introduced resolutions, which were passed in Congress, declaring bourbon whiskey to be a distinctive product of the United States and stipulating that no imported whiskey could be designated as "bourbon whiskey." (from Dictionary of the History of the American Brewing and Distilling Industries by William L. Downard, Greenwood Press, 1980)
