Heaven Hill was basically his idea and it never would have happened without him. Also, he and his sons put many other distilleries back into operation after the drought, including Stitzel-Weller, where he 'placed' his brother-in-law, Will McGill.'Pops' Beam probably was the single most important American whiskey distiller of the 20th century.
