VIRGINIA GENTLEMAN 90

BRINGS HOME THE DOUBLE GOLD

Fredericksburg, VA-The San Francisco World Spirits Competition announced its

2006 winners and Virginia Gentleman 90 Bourbon Whiskey received a double

gold medal. Virginia Gentleman 90 or "VG90" as it is known is a Small Batch

Bourbon produced using a unique triple distillation method in a special

copper still and multi-layered filtration system combined with at least six

years of aging in new charred oak barrels.

VG90 has received many accolades in recent years, including a four star

rating from the Spirit Journal, a gold medal in 2004 and a double gold medal

in 2003 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Also at the 2004

competition, VG90 was named "Best American Whiskey."

"This competition was comprised of 701 spirits from 52 countries and six

continents making it the largest spirits competition in America," said

Bowman Master Distiller, Joe Dangler. "To earn this competition's highest

honor speaks volumes on the quality of Virginia Gentleman 90 Bourbon."

About A. Smith Bowman

Founded in 1935 by Abram Smith Bowman and his sons, Smith and DeLong, the

family enterprise began by producing bourbon on their farm in Fairfax

County, VA at the end of Prohibition. The Bowman family was joined in

the1970's by Jay Adams, descendent of President John Adams and Robert E. Lee

IV, great-grandson of Gen. Robert E. Lee, as well as current Master

Distiller, Joe Dangler. The Distillery moved to its current location,

historic Fredericksburg, VA, in 1988 and continues to make the highest

quality Virginia Bourbon utilizing a unique "triple distillation" technique.

A. Smith Bowman was recently acquired by Buffalo Trace Distillery of

Franklin County, Kentucky. The two have had a long running relationship and

plan on continuing the production of quality spirits in both Virginia and

Kentucky.
