Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE: BFB) struck gold at the recent 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, garnering a total of 11 medals, including four Gold Medals and a prestigious Double Gold medal for Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. This was the second time Old Forester Birthday Bourbon has won a Double Gold Medal at the competition, an honor presented to spirits that receive a unanimous vote for the Gold Award from an esteemed panel of judges. Four additional Brown-Forman brands -- Amarula Cream Liqueur, Woodford Reserve, Don Eduardo Anejo, and Don Edquaro Reposado -- secured gold medals in their respective categories.

Brown-Forman's Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, which received its second Double Gold medal in the Small Batch Bourbon 11 Years and Older category, is a true vintage bourbon released on the birthday of George Garvin Brown, the founder of Brown-Forman and the first person to sell bourbon in sealed bottles as assurance of quality. This year's release of Birthday Bourbon was a 12-year-old bourbon presented at 96 proof.

"We're excited to have our brands recognized once again for their outstanding quality," Erin Schlader, Vice President, Marketing Director Developing Brands tells HappyHours.com.
