Just picked up two of my faves...

VW Lot B and BT 90 proof, which is open and by my side as I type. What a crisp, clean, wonderful Bourbon this is. I am looking for the "BT mustiness" and all I can say is if it's there I like it. ALOT!

Was driving through Lexington today on my way to Louisville and picked up a bottle of Jefferson's Reserve. First time I've had it and I'm enjoying every sip so far. I'm looking for anything in the BT Antique Collection (especially GT Stagg and TH Saz, but haven't even seen it yet). Any hints would be appreciated!

You could try the Liquor Barns or Shoppers Village stores. You should ask a manager if you do not see any on the shelf. I know some stores are intentionally holding it back for people that ask and to put out after it dries up. Good luck finding the Handy and Weller. Most stores got "plenty" of Stagg and ER.

I'm just back from 5 days in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia....

I went full of hope that I'd find something different duty free at their airport...sadly I was disapointed. Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and Wild Turkey 12yo were the only choices. Jen's and my combined 5 litre duty free allowance came home empty :smiley_acbt:

I'm in Cincy today; went to the Party Source and bought the complete BT Antique collection and splurged on a Rittenhouse Rye 21.

I got three bottles of George T. Stagg today. A 2003 and 2 2006's. The '03 came out of Chicago, and the 2 06's came out of KY. My best friend, who I turned on to bourbon about 10-12 years ago made all three buys happen; he drove up to KY today from TN. We both celebrate birthdays next week. This is the way to admit to another year!!!!!

If you ever find the "BT mustiness" think "earthy" and you will like it just fine.

I am here in Nebraska visiting family which means I am away form my bunker. Last time I was here I left a couple of fingers of EC 12 and 2/3 of a bottle of EWSB 95. Clearly, I needed to go to the liquor store...

I got a bottle of WT Rye, for Manhattens.

Knob Creek, on sale for 14.95 and it came in a nice leather bag.

ORVW 10 year old 107 proof. First time for this one. If there is room in my bags I may take one home. If not I will find some way to order it in Japan.

A bottle of 1800 Reposado 100% agave

Angostura aromatic bitters and a bottle of Gallo Red Vermouth, not Noilly Prat but not to bad. It was cheap, too.

Left a lot of fine whiskeys on the shelves. But I haven't bought my take home bottles yet. I think I am going to be able to score some Saz 18, VWFR Rye, and a Stagg. I would have to leave the Stagg here, it is Hazmat, but that means that I can open if right away. It will also mean that I will have a bottle (partial) of Stagg waiting for me next year! Probably no WLW. They are supposed to call me when they come in. Hope they get in on time!

On the way back from Roanoke we stopped in Hagerstown Maryland and picked up a Pikesville Rye, WT Rye and a Dickel 12. No BTAC there yet.

October has been quite a whiskey month. So far I have gotten bottles of Thedford, Copper Fox, Evan Williams white BIB, Old Bourbon Hollow BIB, Virgin 7yr. 101, and Fighting Cock. Next week it will be Thomas Handy rye, Rittenhouse BIB rye, ER 17 and Phillips Union cherry. The lone non bourbon I will get next week is a bottle of Tangle Ridge Canadian! Next month is my birthday, maybe a trip to Kentucky is in order!

I dropped by my local Binny's - no luck with any new BTAC bottlings. However, there was one lonely bottle of Fall '05 Stagg, so I decided to find a good home for it - mine. There were also a few of the Spring '05 bottles as well, but I still have a couple of those in my bunker.

I also picked up a miniature of Beam White, just to see what it's like. I'm sipping it now, and it's better than I expected. IMO, it would be better at 86 proof, but I'd put it in the "drinkable in a pinch" category. I wouldn't turn it down if offered, but if I was buying the bourbon, I'd pick the Black.

Binnys have just got the stock, it hasn't been put into their system yet...59.99 per bottle, and they have all 5 bottles

I'm waiting for midnight so I can place my order at 9am Chicago time

Well that was fun, I stayed up until midnight to call John @ Binnys. It seems he wasn't there so I went to bed. So I got up at 6 (which is 7 now as daylight saving started last night) and I just put my order in. The 5 BT Antiques and a bottle of Pappy 20  . My order will go out Monday, I'll be sitting on the doorstep with a straw waiting for the Fedex truck to pull up :slappin:

I didn't purchase it, but my boss just got back from Italy and the only Bourbon he recognized that he can't get here was the yellow label Four Roses 80 proof. Since I'm the one that got him started with bourbon.......he brought me one too!!!

Made a run through Tennessee and picked up 2 Weller 12's that are a single barrel bottling at McScrooges in Knoxville, another Buffalo Trace (also a single barrel bottling), 1 EWSB 1994, 1 ER 10yr 101, and 1 VOB 100. The Wellers are fantastic.
