The Gurkha Royal Salutes are infused with Louis XIII cognac. They put the cigars in a humidor with an open bottle until it's evaporated. Gurkhas tend to be full bodied to start with so they hold up well to the cognac infusion.

By itself it's an interesting smoke but it didn't do anything for me. On a whim, we had a bottle of the BTAC Williams Larue Weller open and I drank it with the cigar.

Every once in awhile you try two things together that exponentially surpass either item by itself. Well, maybe not so much the WLW which I love, but the Gurkha came into its own. The bourbon picked up on and matched beautifully with the sweetness of the cognac in the cigar. Both are huge flavored items and it amazed me how good they were together.
