This photo was taken at Heaven Hill's booth on the gounds of Spalding Hall during the bourbon festival 2000. Parker is on the left and Craig is on the right. For those of you who do no know who they are Parker Beam is the Master Distiller for Heaven Hill Distilleries and Craig is his son. Craig is training to do his fathers job when he retires. Craig is the mirror image of his father.

I put a piece of paper over Bubba (in the middle) cause it was a awful picture of him. He is a really nice looking gentleman.( I learned my lesson with Chuck Cowdery). Anyway Bubba Hester is one of our sales people upstairs. He is from Alabama and ya can tell it by talking to him. He was the grand prize winner on the Price is Right. Anyway if I get a good picture of Bubba I will post it.

Hey Betty Jo! Are you sure that's not me or any other Heaven Hill consumer behind that paper blind? The reason I ask is that since I posted that less than flattering tasting on EWSB '92 no one at Heaven Hill will talk to me. No one has answered my e-mails to HH. Whenever I call HH - Max S. is always 'out'. All I want is for Heaven Hill to replace a bad bottle with a good one. Is that so tough? The worst part is Heaven Hill's poor attitude towards the consumer - "Oh so what you're just one person. What difference could little old you make?"

Well I intend to make a bigger difference that ya'll might think. How did such a poor barrel as #18 manage to slip by Parker & Craig? It's not like them to let that happen. It's time for Heaven Hill to wake up and realize that the average bourbon consumer is very much more aware than ever before. Marketing hype sells bottles, but poor product sinks the ship. Is your life preserver handy? If there are very many barrels like #18 being bottled the reputation of Evan Williams Single Barrel is going down like a drowning sailor. It's time for Max to fess up and make things right!

Pardon me for 'venting' here Betty Jo. I know that you do not make the barrel selection, nor do you instruct Max as to how to run his company. I know that you work hard to earn a living. So do I. I hate to waste that money on 'bad' bourbon. Please hint to the people 'up front' that they just might answer their e-mail and not put consumers off when they call for answers. Thank you for your time.

Good News everyone. Heaven Hill has tossed me a life preserver. I just got off the phone with Mike Sonne in quality control. It seems that he had just finished sending me an e-mail concerning barrel #18 of the '92 vintage Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon. He wants my bottle back for analysis and will replace it with a new bottle. It seems I'm the only one that has lodged a complaint. Proof once again that the squeeky wheel does indeed get the grease.

I don't blame you for the way I looked in your picture. I blame myself..and maybe Dominos Pizza.
