Yesterday I saw some of this at the Liquor Barn off Westport in Louisville for $40 and change. There were also what appeared to be (they were wrapped in tissue) of the PVW 15yo right next to it for a few cents less.

I honestly try not to give advice or educate other buyers unless I am asked. I had a very funny occurance the other day. I was looking at my local liquor store and selected my bottles. I overheard the clerk tell another man that the Lot B was excellent, but that Lot A was far superior. I tried, but couldn't get the man to understand. In the parking lot, I set him staright.

I have not talked to anyone who has even tried the Lot A. So, what exactly did you tell him?

I have found that even with employees at liquor stores, you can not trust all the info given. Half truths and mis information runs rampent between liquor sales reps and employees.

For example, when I was working behind the counter here in Austin. I had the Forty Creek rep talking up FC big time....I gave him an informal blind taste test:

1. FC

2. ER 10/90

3. Overholt

He picked them: 2,3,1 and was very surprised that FC was so light in flavor.

This board has really influenced my thinking when it comes to distilled spirits. I learn new information daily, thanks to everyone who posts here.
