kpendle
While visiting relatives recently in the Owensboro area I swung by the distillery in Stanley and took a few pictures. I grew up in Stanley. My mom worked there for a short period many years ago. I believe while it was open this is also where the Stanley Volunteer Fire dept filled up their trucks with water at one time. Hope someone finds the pictures of interest. It has been pretty much stripped down. It was very hot that day and we were pressed for time so we did not look around much. People are now living in the office area and during our quick trip around the building it appears it is being used as a workshop. Ken
Gillman
Nice pics, that antique pot still in its own housing on the grass is intriguing.Gary
mozilla
Great pics! Some of them bring to mind the saying "being put out to pasture". And yes, that old pot still does look like it might fit in the bed of my old pick-up.Jeff Mo.
Aged In Oak
I agree with the other replies, great pictures! I've been toying with the idea of visiting some old distilleries/distillery sites for a while. Just haven't gotten around to it. I take it the Stanley distillery is readily accessible (i.e. no guards telling you to keep off the property, even though it isn't in use)? If so, I'll have to add it to my list.
