ebo
Having a nice dram of Ardmore Traditional Cask. This is one of my favorite whiskies, and, IMO, one of the best values in single malt Scotch whisky. This whisky holds it's own with some of the more expensive whiskies out there.
ILLfarmboy
Glenfiddich 12 yr. Not a real serious dram, not by malt maniac standards, but I'm enjoying it. Lots of pear on the nose and the palete...........

Halifax
Was over at a neighbors house last night hanging out. He broke out a bottle of Chivas Regal 12 and Glenfiddich 12. I enjoyed both. And... Whisky just seems to taste so much better when it is free.

ebo
Laphroaig 30 yo for a special celebration. Mmmmm . . . Thanking ErichPryde for finding it for me!!!Come on... share. What's it taste like? The oldest Laphroaig I've tasted was 15 year old... and it was excellent. I would assume it has lost quite a bit of it's peat bite?
JohnHansell
It's mellower than its younger siblings, but nicely balanced. It has been replaced by a 25 year old, which is also nice, but bolder.
AVB
I did a review of it 6 years ago here if you want to read it.Tonight's dram is Campbeltowm Loch 30 and the previously released (and reviewed) 25. The 25 has a slight edge. Come on... share. What's it taste like? The oldest Laphroaig I've tasted was 15 year old... and it was excellent. I would assume it has lost quite a bit of it's peat bite? dmarkle
Eagle Rare 17. I actually had it in a reidel chardonnay stemless glass. I actually like the glass -- it didn't concentrate the nose too much. IMO snifters with bourbon can just bowl you over with the alcohol in the nose. You gotta let it breathe out a bit, but it should still taper inwards. Anyway, I killed the bottle. Good thing I have an emergency backup.

ggilbertva
Decided to skip the bourbon tonight and go with a Aberlour a'bunadh. I love the Sherry influence at cask strength. It's a chewy, terrific dram.

JamesW
Enjoying my first taste of Ardmore Traditional Cask (Quarter Cask). Spicy, bourbon-like and some very nice peat and smoke. While I prefer the Laphroaig Quarter Cask, this is really nice indeed.
