timd
Enjoying the heck out of the Laphroaig 10 CS Batch #4.I haven't had a bottle in nearly a year - and let me tell you, I miss this stuff. So very, very good. It was on sale for $56 - and worth every penny.
WAINWRIGHT
Lagavulin 16 as my last pour of the evening, the sweet marriage of sherry influence and peat is just divine.I haven't revisited this bottle for quite some time, even better than I remember just a true classic. Yeti
Aberlour A'bunadh Batch 32 to finish off the evening. Preferred slightly to the more sour #41, but not as much as #39 which had more vivid fruit and viscous mouthfeel. Have the recently released several batches simultaneously? I bought #41 over the summer and thought it was the most recent, but have seen 42 and 44 (but no 43) pop up on some different websites lately. WAINWRIGHT
Try it with a slice of blue cheese next time. Perfect pairing.
unclebunk
A little Roquefort and Islay together does sound interesting. I have tried some pairings before just not with any peated scotch,I will just have to give this a go.

jeffrey r
Delving into my Concannon Irish whiskey for the first time over rocks before heading out for dinner. Very nice. It's a nice, easy blend, but with an extra richness that I might attribute to the extra maturing. Overall, a great buy at around $20 if you can find it. LostBottle
Nothing fancy, just some Talisker 10. The pepper in this one never gets old.

Don't start a panic but if you like it you might want to stock up!

ChainWhip
Had my eye on that recently. What do you think of it?This bottle was a very generous gift so it is much appreciated. This is my first pull from this bottle but I find that dessert wine finishes add too much to an already "sweet" Springbank malt (tastes too "winey" to me) - it's a tad hot and astringent too but it may take some time for it to open up and a few more tastings to get my mind around this.Caveat: I had Indian food before this so my palate may have been way out of whack ;-) Edited December 11, 2012 by ChainWhip
MtnDew
Was sipping a dram of Mackmyra First Edition (Swedish single malt) last night, fairly tasty for such a young whisky. I've been nursing the bottle though since I have never seen one for sale outside of the duty free shop in Sweden Anyone spotted one of these in the wild? MyOldKyDram
Enjoying isn't nearly strong enough...been a mild winter so far, but pretty good and cold tonight, so I decided to give the Laphroaig QC a go. Kinda in love with this right off the bat. Just sweet and spicy, and with that smoky finish that gives and gives and...very nice pour.

unclebunk
Was all set to pour some bourbon when a friend dropped by unexpectedly with a bottle of Powers 12 so we headed straight for that, followed by some Connemara Peated Single Malt and a few scotch ales. A great evening of spirits, craic and Irish tunes!
MtnDew
Available in Canada (Ontario) for $67Thanks for the info! They had a lineup of at least 7 different offerings at the duty free and this was the only expression with the label in English so I assumed it had to be available outside of Sweden. HighHorse
Last night decided on a pour of WTRB. I thought I read somewhere on here that it's Jimmy Russell's favorite. It wasn't mine ... that spot is held right now by Kentucky Spirit as offered and especially a barrel pick we have available in Tallahassee. I followed that with a healthy pour of FR Marriage. This from the bottom of the bottle that had been on the bar for most of a year. This blew me away! A wonderful bourbon! Is this released every year? I think the one bottle they have left is from before 2012. I'll grab that one today.

Trey Manthey
Have you had the 3? If so, how do they compare to each other?Yeah, I finished a bottle of Batch 3 last week. Unfortunately, I don't have any left to make a direct comparison, but this one seems different. Great nose, but it definitely is less sweet, a "woodier" flavor, although not unpleasant. And I've never really understood when people picked up on a leather when tasting whisky until now. It's quite nice.
tanstaafl2
Got an opportunity to try a taste of the Amrut Fusion and the new Two Continents, Batch #2, today. The Fusion was OK, a bit of peat but perhaps a hair rougher than I expected given the rave reviews it seems to have had. The Two Continents on the other hand was a real beauty! I would buy one if I could find it. And I am not that much of a scotch drinker.
