barturtle
On his way through to NOLA, Roger stopped for the night to have dinner and drinks with me. While on his trip he had picked up a decanter of Dickel that he gifted to me.(Thanks Roger!) I have actually been drinking on it for a while, due to the fact that when I got into my car to leave where he was staying, I snapped the cork... Anyway, I've been wanting to get a review up of this fine whiskey, it's taken me a bit longer to get around to, but finally I have time. Upon pouring, the color is a lovely honeyed amber and the liquid has some fine legs in the glass. Nosing it shows a bit of alcohol, with some light floral accents and a bit of toasty aroma. One the palate it is creamy and delicately flavored with caramel highlighted with lavender and toasted oak. It finishes up with a buttery nutty effect and a tiny flourish of mint. Thanks again Roger. I have really been enjoying this bottle.
