OK It is a nice Tuesday Morning before noon and I am enjoying a nice vacation day. I was sippin some coffee and was inspired to sip some bourbon along side. It is nice, very nice pairing. An Organic french roast coffee and 2 oz pour of BT. This is not mixed together but drank form a mug and a Reidel glass. has any one else performed this experiment? What are your thoughts?
No, but I'd like to try it. Since I very much enjoy an Irish coffee, I thought bourbon and coffee would be a nice drink: KY Coffee. I did not, however, find any enjoyment in mixing these two things together. Bourbon with coffee back sounds very tempting.
I rather like a koink of bourbon in my coffee on a Sunday morning...mostly just enough to give some bourbon flavor to my bean juice. Makes a nice rich cup to sip while putzing on the 'puter. I might have to try the bourbon with a coffee back...maybe even a pour of my ETL. :)
We have a family tradition of having brunch on Sunday morning. Before brunch I always make a pitcher of Bloody Marys or some "Kentucky Coffee". I put 1+1/2 oz of bourbon, add strong (but not bitter) coffee to about 1/2" from the top, stir in 1/2 tsp sugar, and top with real whipped cream. A delicious drink. If you like Bloody Marys, try adding 1/2 as much gold rum as you use vodka to your favorite recipe (don't reduce the amount of vodka).
I have always been a huge fan of bourbon in coffee. I am glad to see I am not the only one. A shot in a cup of coffee is great after a good meal.
Try this ...
about 1/2 oz of Starbucks Cream
1/2 to 1 oz of your bourbon of choice ... try a wheater first
fill your mug ... or better yet, your Irish coffee glass ... with your favorite blend of steamy hot coffee
top off with a dollop of fresh, real whipped cream ...

Don't like bourbon in coffee, but side by side after a meal is great.
last Christmas I stumbled on a recipe for a bistouille - A French drink with a shot of brandy, two tsp of sugar and hot black coffee. I had some brandy in the cabinet that I rarely do anything with so I tried it. I especially enjoyed the sensation with the cup close to my mouth and nose before taking a sip. I had to cut back on the sugar - 2 tsp was too sweet. I may give this a try with bourbon.
I sometimes like bourbon in my coffee, but have found if I want to spike my morning beverage, it is better to use vanilla bean vodka.
Decided to try this today after a rough morning with the kids. ;) Poured a shot of Alberta Springs 10yo rye into a cup of strong french roast. The flavors mixed wonderfully. Best cup of coffee I have had in a while
