I was given 4 decanters from around 1970 with of Jim Beam. From a Master Painters collection. Seals intact...is this OK to drink?

If they were stored standing up, and not on their side, they are probably fine. Unlike wine, whiskey needs to be stored standing up. Pour a little in a glass. If it's not cloudy and the cork didn't disintegrate you will have something very nice.

And it's unlikely to be harmful if sealed, even if it turns out to be not very good.

Make sure it didn't turn brown. If it did, you may have some issues.

Likewise, if it has a strong ethanol aroma.

are those the screw cap beam's choice? if so, you're in for a treat. old beam decanters with corks SOMETIMES suffer (although not always, I've popped quite a few that were liquid golden), but the screw tops, decanters or otherwise, rarely do.

and if it's beam's choice... those are good bottles of whiskey. I suppose if you're not a bourbon guy or not a beam guy, you might not like them though.
