Could some of you guys give your opinion on JBGL? I would like to try it but would like some opinions first, before I buy
some to find I don't like it.

Thanks,

Beam's Choice. Its jim beam whiskey thats aged 5 years instead of four. Still 80 proof. Not much better than the white label, but i aint had either in a few years

Years ago when the white label was 7 years old and 86 proof the green label 'Beam's Choice' was a year older and higher proof (8 years, 90 proof I believe). One might call it the precursor of today's Black Label. I think the 80 proof standard Beams are overpriced for mixers but a lot of people seem to be willing to buy them.

My oldest bottle (1981) says 8 years old and 80 proof. My next bottle (1984) says "Old Number 8 family Formula" (have we heard this before?)and 86 proof. Then in the late 80s they came out with Beam's Black Label 101 months and 90 proof and down graded the Choice even more. But I'm not sure of the exact dates of transitions. The old Choice was very good. The Black 101 mts is excellent. the current stuff I wouldn't buy even to mix with coke.

Five years old and 74 proof in Australia. Won't go near it. Sounds like it was decent once upon a time.
