"Old" Ezra Brooks = current Old Ezra?

My friend with the Canada Dry Bourbon also had this bottle of Ezra Brooks, which is 90 proof and 7 years old. Isn't this the same age as the more contemporary Old Ezra?

After talking with my friend's wife, the current theory is that this whiskey and the Canada Dry COULD HAVE BEEN acquired in the mid 1980's.

Would that fit this bottle style? Or was this likely a special bottle?

The Owensboro location means it was either while Medley owned it or after Glenmore bought Medley, thereby becoming Ezra's proprietor.

I'm pretty confident that was a special, decanter-style bottle, not a standard bottling.
