I am goign to Las Vegas next week for a coffee industry convention. I am wondering if there are any great places to buy bourbon in Las Vegas that might have a better selection than I can find in southern california? Any SB members live in Las Vegas and have a good suggestion?

Mini Blanton's bottles are readily available at the major hotel gift shops that I have encountered, and they are priced right.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. I am not looking to find bars that carry bourbon. I am looking for retailers that have a great selection of bourbon. I don't generally drink in bars or gamble much, although I like the idea of PVW 20 and Hirsch Blue Wax being complimentary.

So, anyone know of any good bourbon shops in Vegas where I can buy bottles to take home? I have plenty of bourbons available locally, but am looking for a better selection.

From my past trips to Vegas, Las Vegas Wine Company and Lee's Discount Liquor have the largerst and best selection. They both have more than one location in town, so google them for addreses. You probably will not find anything in Vegas that is not easily available in CA. Well, maybe one exception, both of these at one point still had bottles of Jacob Well on the shelf (at least a year since I was at these locations, so ?).

That's been my experience too Wade. Val is from LV and we go there several times a year. Retail wise, its unremarkable. But in the bars mentioned in other threads, older VW products are readily available.

Unremarkable indeed. Lee's had a decent selection, but was expensive vs. what I am used to paying in CA. Elijah Craig, for example, was over $20. I pay $15.99. ETL was quite a bit more, as was Maker's Mark. After looking around a bit, we left with no purchases made.

I did try Booker's in a bar in one of the casinos. Too much ice! But other than that, it wasn't bad. I wasn't thrilled by it, but I'm not sure I gave it a fair shot.

Exactly what I found, the trick is to drink it in the bars and drink it for free.

I am going back in a few weeks for two night and I already know right where to go in the Bellagio for Hirsch BW and Pappy. This time I am staying at Mandalay Bay so I'll scour ever bar in that casino upon arrival hoping to find one with some good bourbon. When I find it I'll play something close by...

I love Vegas, but I always pay for it afterwards, in more ways than one!
