Curious to know what you drink the most of? I own some fancy bottles and brands, that I celebrate with once in a while. But my daily pour is George #8.

For bourbon, it used to be until recently Evan Williams 7 year. But now I can't get it or they quit making it. So its Evan Williams Black label. I liked Old Charter but I drink too much one night...that was an elegant bourbon for a cheapy, probably too elegant which is why I couldn't quit drinking it!!

I don't really have a daily pour. I alternate between Wellers 12 year, ORVW10, and Weller Centennial.

My recent daily pours are Lot B and EC 12. A few weeks ago it was Weller 12 and WT101 until they joined the empty group. I seem to find WT 101 as one of my more frequently replaced bottles.

I tend to have 8 or so bottles open and they are all fair game with the exception of my "special" group.

I enjoy my way through the open bottles until one is empty. I then try and open a new bottle I have not tried yet, and I also go out and and get a new bottle to replace the empty...some times the same bottle I finished if I really liked it, or something new if I can find that.

My special bottles are either to $$, or too hard to come by to replace with any frequency so I save them for special times.

My daily pour is what I decide at the time I walk up to my bar. I have many bottles open and like to be able to have a variety of choices. I have 4 or 5 favorites that I may drink a little more often than others such as Weller 12yr or Rittenhouse Rye BIB. Also I keep going back to the Sazerac Rye Jr.

At this point it is WT 101, EC 12, and OGD Bonded.

My daily pour keeps on changing, originally it was WT101 but then I switched to FC103 for a long time. I'd say my daily pour is now Weller Antique 107 because that it what I have been buying ever since I got a little tired of the FC103; right now I have a bottle of OGB Bonded in it's place but I think that the next bottle I will buy for everyday drinking will be another Weller Antique 107. Who knows that it will change to next but I think it is very likely that my next will probably be another wheater rather than a rye recipe bourbon, there are very few rye recipe bourbons that I like better than wheaters.

I definitely don't have a daily pour. I like something different everyday. I usually have around 5 bourbons and 5 scotches open at any time so unless the mood really strikes me I never have the same thing more than once a week (I will admit that on occasion I will get on a WLW or ORVW15 kick and drink these 3-4 days in a row).

Currently my open bourbons are WLW, ORVW15, GTS, WTRB
Ryes are Sazerac BTAC, Sazerac (Sam's 10 YO bottling)
Scotches are Jura Superstituion, Compass Box Hedonism and Spice Tree, Springbank Marsala Finish, Lagavulin, and Glenfarclas
Also have an open bottle of the Colorado Whiskey

So as you can see my daily pour bounces all around the place.

I don't have a huge collection since I have somewhat recently started exploring the world of Bourbon. I just rotate through them depending on my mood. So far I have...

Lot B
OGD 114
OW 107
Makers Mark
Rittenhouse BIB

I would say that WT101 and OW 107 make great inexpensive daily pours.

I usually have 12+ different brands open at any time, but if I had to pick a "daily pour", it would be BT.

04-27-2007, 15:21
I probably have Wild Turkey 101 more often than anything else.

I mix it up pretty regularly. Bourbon, rye and Irish with the occasional scotch. but on the whole I drink more bourbon than anything else and more WT RB than any other bourbon.

04-27-2007, 17:46
My daily pour is whiskey; bourbon or rye. I have about 18 bourbons/rye's open and a couple of scotch's If I kept a record of my drinking habits, I'd probably see that I hit Lot B more than any other bourbon. My two new open bottles are ETL and FC....both very enjoyable. As TomH and Ubertaster said, I don't have a daily pour as I like to mix it up to keep it interesting.

Though I, too, keep a lot of whisk(e)y around, and like a good bit of variety day-to-day, I notice that my OC12, OGD BIB, WT101, and Knob Creek wind up empty more frequently than anything else. All are relatively inexpensive, too, and they all work as neat sippers or mixers.

04-27-2007, 20:13
I like to keep a lot of bottles open but the bottles that are always returned to are Dickel No. 12, Old Forester BIB and Wild Turkey 101/RR101.

If only I could find it in South Jersey, Weller 12 YO would be a daily pour.

04-28-2007, 16:42
For me Wild Turkey 101 is tops on the rye side. Old Fitz BIB is my favorite wheater these days.

If I happen to be particularly budget conscious when I'm at the store, EC12

Few of us here, I believe, have a true "daily pour," although we may have a portfolio of "preferred products," which we drink more often than most. For me it's any Weller or Fitzgerald, Evan Williams Single Barrel, Very Old Barton BIB and Rittenhouse Rye BIB, but I probably drink from the porfolio less than half of the time.

Exactly right. Even after leaving a dozen or so bottles in Bardstown for the Gazebo upon leaving Saturday, I currently have open (full-size bottles only; 750ml or larger) 24 bourbons, 10 ryes, 5 'other' American whiskeys, 3 Canadians, 2 Irish, 6 single malt Scotch, 1 New Zealand single malt, and 2 Japan whiskeys -- but about half the time I pour the 5-6 wheated bourbons, all but one Stitzel-Weller.

I don't necessarily have a daily pour. I also have a portfolio, albeit small compared to others. I prefer wheaters. My absolute benchmark is Pappy 20.

Tough question. Like many here, variety is my preference and I sort of rotate what might be called "daily pour(s)" on a weekly basis. It keeps the tastebuds sharp and also allows for a slower drain of inventory. However, the downside is that I tend to run out of multiple bottles simultaneously.....which can get expensive to replenish. The only exception for me is WTRB. If I open a bottle, it tends to disappear faster than anything else.

05-02-2007, 19:50
I also tend to rotate "daily" pours in an irregular manner. Premium bourbons and ryes tend to go slower, and SMS tends to be expensive enough that it goes slow, too.

05-02-2007, 22:43
I like to mix it up but, Buffalo Trace and Old Weller 107 are the ones I keep in stock no matter what. Wish I could do the same for Laphroaig 10yr but it's just a little out of my price range to be a daily.

'Daily' pour alternates between Bulleit, EWSB, and Eagle Rare. Weight Watchers has redefined the word 'daily' for me........

I've been mixing it up a lot recently too, but I ALWAYS have BT open and available. I also have EC12 fairly regularly, especially when it goes on sale (26.99 for 1.75L).

Right now in addition to BT I have the following bottles open:
Jefferson Reserve
AH Hirsch 16
WT Rye
Thomas Handy Rye

I've been drinking the Jefferson mostly lately. I like it but it was probably not worth the cost, but I like trying new things, so in that sense it was worth it.

06-09-2007, 06:07
If I had to call anything a "daily pour", it would be Wild Turkey 101.

Add Baker's to the "bottles open" list.

The bourbon I am finding myself pour most often right now is Old Forester Birthday Bourbon '06. The strong vanilla, also brings out a little banana, which in turn, reminds my of the Banana Spring Rolls at PF Changs. It also helps that once I realized I love this bourbon I stocked up.

Lately, I find myself reaching for Weller 12yr. Great taste, and relatively easy on the wallet.
