Anyone in the Chicago area looking for some cool finds might want to check out Foremost Liquors on Elmhurst just north of Oakton. I stopped by tonight on my way back from Binny's and they had the following:

Blantons Silver - $29
IW Harper 12 Decanter - $19
IW Harper 15 - $29
Old Charters Proprietors Reserve - $29 (Oringinal BHC)
Very Special Old Fitzgerald - $29 (Original BHC)
EWSB 1990 - $???

BTW - Binny's in Des Plaines had a few George T Stagg and Sazerac 18 bottles from this years BTAC collection. Both were $59.

Happy drinking!!!

I thought the Blantons silver was for export only?

I believe you are correct, but they are selling it for what seems to be an incredible price.

Quite a few stores have managed to get BT to put a store selection of Blanton's in the Silver box...was this actually the 98 proof silver or just the 93 proof in the shiny box?

This was a 98 proof silver labeled Blanton's. I think they had about 4-5 bottles all priced at $29. I was shocked myself when I saw it...

If it's truly the 98p Silver, that's a great price. I paid $30 for mine last year overseas.

Hey Greg, what did you think of the Blanton's Silver?

The Blanton's Silvers have labels attached to them from the Illinois Liquor Commission stating they are distressed from a fire.

I thought I'd heard of everything but this is a new one for me. Sounds like a chance to sample some excellent whisky at an excellent price. And if any residual smoke got in the whiskey, it might actually make it better! :)
