If you came across a ceramic bottle of old Stitzel weller stock from the 60's would you drink it??

Would it still be good, or toxic???

unless it has been open should be very good. I personally would drink it a shot week. Whiskey is meant to be drunk to hell with collecting.

I couldn't tell you but in 1971 the FDA released guidelines for things like ceramics for use with food because the glazes used on them contained lead and other things. It could be fine or the glaze could have corroded and possibly poisoned the whiskey. I didn't read the entire thing but this (http://www.enotalone.com/article/7716.html) may be of interest. Maybe decant it into a clear glass bottle and see if any powder settles on the bottom of it, it won't tell you if lead is present but it will probably let you know if the glaze has corroded. I believe the same goes for porcelain decanters.

Tweety-Bird... I had some WT 101 from a ceramic and it was terrible (I poured it out and it is in the pictures of my stash).

If it is cheap, buy it as a decoration and even try it, but do not buy it planning on it being great.
