Last night was a rotation of bourbon and rye - Started with JB Rye followed by MM, then a pour of ER10yo, EWSB1997, went back to another JB Rye and then finished with a EC12yo - very nice!

I like to go back to the peppery taste of the rye after a few bourbons and then back to a favourite bourbon to end on.

I love the taste of bourbon but after drinking a rye bourbon is just too bland so I'll drink my bourbon first and finish with a rye if i'm going to have rye.

As Jackie Gleason would have said: "How sweet it is...!!!" I wish I could find another Pewter Top.

How was that Hiram Walker's Private Cellar, Greg? I see it occasionally when I'm out dusty hunting, but I always decide I'd rather save my dusty dollars for something that's not Illinois bourbon. Is it tasty?

Sippin on a glass of VSOF BHC bottle (Thank you again Joe). This is my first taste of any of the BHC Bottles. I think I may try my first tasting notes on this one sometime this weekend. Worked all night, gotta work tonight. Don't want to leave anything out. I have also been working on some tasting notes on the FR1B I picked up this wekend. I hope to have these up soon.

OK, I'll bite, what's Rebel Reserve?

I just found it on shelves here in MA this week. It's from Luxko and is a wheater supposedly using Weller's secret recipe (as Cowdery pointed out, the Stitzels had the recipe and the Wellers were just distributors).

It reminds me very much of Weller SR, similar proof and profile and $5 more expensive. Still a touch different and quite pleasant for $21. I like the wheaters so it's a welcome bottom shelf addition.

Tonight I started again with Rebel Reserve, Weller SR and now a pour from my Blanton's barrel sample.

Last night was Sazerac Rye, a little more than a third of a bottle while the wife and I watched a couple movies and then as I sat in front of the computer.:skep:

Moved on to Evan Williams SB 1998. This was a holiday bottle and nearing the end. Will be looking for a replacement.

Very easy to do with that stuff. Poof, it's gone.
