I started this evening with a bit of Rittenhouse BiB. This is absolutely revolting. I had to switch to some 08 Stagg to get rid of the taste.

I didnt like it that much either when I first got it. I let it get some air, came back a couple weeks later and added a splash and it tasted much better.

Weller Antique, while I'm paying bills. Boy, even when you buy stuff from a place called Cheaper Than Dirt, it can add up.

Started off the evening with a little VBT#186. Then had dinner and a couple of beers and moved on to ERSB 10/90....I think I'm breaking up with this bottle, I just can't dig it. I've had a couple good experiences with ERSB but most of the time I think it's one-dimensional -- there are cheaper things I like a whole lot better. Night capping it with a small blast of OCPR -- that's more like it!

Had some MM and then I went to another bar where the bartender served me a double of MM by pouring 2 shots and then dumping them into a rocks glass, a first...

Man, that hurts! ERSB is one of my most reliable and favorite pours. Not a whole lot of depth, true enough, but subtleties abound within the oaky musk. Current bottles of ERSB have been stellar in my opinion.

Nice to know that if something doesn't float your boat there's always another one close at hand that will. Ahh, bourbon...

Cheers!

I started the night with the last of a Willett Rye bottle, second barrel Doug and Roger did. Good stuff!

Then opened a bottle of Weller Centennial from Julios -- Thanks Spun!!! -- it seemed a little thin so I opened another Weller Centennial from the Bottle Barn barrel I purchased many bottles from. The Bottle Barn version, which I was told is Stitzel Weller, is far superior but I hate to dog anyone's choice in a single barrel and will give Julios a few more tastes. Then again, it isn't fair to compare what is obvious to me now a SW to a nonSW bourbon!

Picked up two Weller Centennial BHC Louisville and now that I have a back up, i opened one up and enjoyed it thouroughly. Seems very similiar to something else I've had recently. Maybe Weller 12? I'll investigate.

Last night with dinner was a pour of Van Winkle Lot B.... For desert, instead of the usual bowl of ice cream I opted for a pour of Wild Turkey American Honey.

Last night, I watched the Louisville Cardinals take their first Big East Championship with FR120th and Pappy 20.

Heading into the house soon for some ERSB. Great day here, sunny and warm, comparatively, I guess (52º).

Frustrating night, a double is surely in order.

Cheers!

I couldn't decide what to drink last night, so I fell back on the ever faithful Elmer T Lee.

I kicked back with a couple pours of VSOF 12 last night. Very nice for the price. tim

Now, was that the current HH version (with VS on the neck) or the dusty S-W version (with HC on the neck)? I've been reading thru all of the VSOF posts again today, so I'm curious -- I still haven't tried the HH, but I get mixed reviews.

Still raining here. Thought I'd change the mojo with a start of WT12 Split Label.

This one is the current version. I would like to try a comparison to the older S-W. I'll check my other bottles. tim

Really enjoying some WTRye101 for the first time since I opened this bottle... what I'm tasting now is what I remember loving....cloves, nutmeg and rye, rye, rye. Took a while for this bottle to open up.
