What's Open On Your Bar?

My number of opened bottles has continuously ramped up since last October, and I think it's waaaay too many. This list does not include the half dozen or so open bottles of liquor which AREN'T whisk(e)y.

Then again, while I've been trying to diligently finish off bottles, I keep getting a hankering for opening new ones; I'm trying to resist. I might just be at the point of accepting this as normal (thanks in no small part to seeing how expansive the collections around here are!). If I like a whiskey, I want to make it last as long as possible, so I would only want to push to finish a bottle if I didn't so much care for it, but with so much open that I do love, why would I drink something that's not as good?

See, it's a Catch 22. I want to have Booker's and KC SB on hand. I'm not one much for delaying gratification... so I guess I fit right in here eh?:grin:

Sure, I'd like to have a ton unopened/bunkered and just a few open like Oscar, but I'm new. When I buy it, I wanna try it! I've stayed my hand on a few: Old Rip 107, ETL 15, BT binny's, RHF, Ritt BIB, MM, some bunkered Weller 12's and VOB's, but I've either got one that's open or I've had it enough I know what to expect. Their time will surely come!

My wife encourages me to buy more than I am comfortable buying. Somehow, the guilt of not drinking it as fast as I buy it gets to me. Here's a list of what's open.

I haven't been opening much, lately. I wanted to get down to a reasonable number of open bottles before opening more. Most of what's open is from when I began experimenting last year. I've since purchased a large amount of bourbon and rye, so the bunkers hold a better balance of American vs. foreign whiskies than is represented here in the open list.
