sampled some more of my new-to-me Weller Special Reserve (it's opening up...so far I like!) and went ahead and made myself a nice Old Fashioned out of it...yum!

William Larue Weller 2007 BTAC 117.9 proof.

This one is my favorite of all the Larue's

Sweet maple, toffe richness that gets tamed by oak but not overwhelming oak.

All 3 parts are great, nose, taste and finish.

Sip it slow and space out the sips, it's complex and worth going slow.

What'd you think of the Rittenhouse 23 year?

Last night it was some Maker's Mark followed by Van Winkle Rye. If I come across a better rye I will be amazed!

Again, not today but yesterday, WT101, ERSB 10/90, and Blanton's. It's been a great vacation. Got a chance to try a couple bourbons I haven't had before. Joe

Chores done and errands run.

It's my time.

I opened a bottle of Four Roses Barrel Strenth 120th Anniversary.

112.6 proof.

JW Warehouse

Barrel No 7-10

Good Lord, the sweet dark plum/pomagrate and that just right spice that is a 4R trademark blazes thru!

Celebrated Friday with a couple of hearty pours of GTS 2007. At the time, seemed like a great way to start the weekend. This morning... not so sure.

Started with Parkers Heritage 122.6 and now I too am enjoying some GTS 2007. Both are fantastic but I'd give the edge to the GTS.

Damn James, I did not know you owned any nonwheateirs.... those are two good ones.

I am out of the original PHs and am on the hunt...

Tonight for me it is the end of a 750 of ER 101.... I am on a bottle killing spree.

This will bring me down to 64.... I might have to hold off on any bottle is ready for pour offers to visiting folks... but I doubt I will ... ... I like to open bottles....

Haha I've been a bit close-minded haven't I. I guess I'm starting to get tired of my wheaters because a number rye recipe bottlings are really grabbing my attention. Perhaps my tastebuds are finally evolving into a more rounded bourbon profile!

Nursed a pour of JW Dant BIB c. '89. A good pour that reminds me of AAA 10 year.
