Yeah, thanks Joe. It's nice to have a reminder of the more important things once in a while. Kinda keeps things in the proper perspective. Joe

with as serious as you guys are being, it makes me feel retarded for posting what I did tonight. some friends came over, and we played "multiplayer solitare." I started with a drink of Lot B, which, I have to say, on revisiting was amazing. From there, I moved on to Jack sours. I added some Jack single barell picked by BevMo to spice it up. then I may have made a Sazerac cocktail or two with a combination of the sazerac 6 y5r and some 08 thomas handy sazerac. then I had a seven crown and barqs rootbeer, which is a dangerous combination. I know that at some point I had a shot of PVW15 in there somewhere. then it was back to Jack sours with marchino cherry juice. I also had a shot of Abundah, but about half of that was spilled onto the table as fiesty hands threw cards onto the aces in the middle. then, with what was lft in my cup, I added more lot B. now I am playing burnout 2, which is not only one of the best video games ever made BUT ALSO the crash mode is one of the best drinking games ever made and drinking another jack sour. I am hitting the backspace key every 5 seconds to delete words like "whatr the hexlx is my prockel" and other stories by Jack Daniwel.

Sounds like a good night of drinking...you better not have too many stories like this or you will get accused of drinking to get drunk!

After months of sitting in the bunker I finally decided to open my RR 10/90 that I bought in June while it was the Bourbon of the Month...this is my first experience with Turkey and I have to say that I'm a fan...Very good flavor with a smooth finish...it definitely deserves a place on the bar! I'm upset that it took me so long to open it.

Last night was a late night for drinking. Sat on the front porch around 11:00 pm and through the course of smoking a 5 Vegas Gold, I enjoyed an '83 Old Forester and a Dalwhinnie 15 yr.

Just had a short pour of Weller Cent (Julio's edition). Pardon me while I sit here kind of dazed with a dopey look on my face. That is a tasty beverage.

Tasty indeed, I've been hitting my Julio's 13 yr a lot lately... tonight its WT101, WTRR90 and now Wathen's. I really have to give the Wathens a standing ovation for great value. I really the WTs but this edges them out and at a fine price I must add. I paid $22 for it on sale, down from $31.

OFBB fall 1990-2003 before dinner and ORVW 10/107 with the gooseberry-red current pie for dessert. Both tasted excellent.

A friend of mine found a bottle of Walker's Deluxe from 1965 at an estate sale for $3 (!) and decided to give it a new home. Well, not for long anyway, as we knocked it down to the last drop Friday night. It came in a beautiful decanter-style bottle and was way better than we had anticipated. We enjoyed it so much that he went back and scored another bottle of it earlier today. Nice juice from Peoria, Illinois!

WTRR101 before dinner, ORVW 10/107 with the dessert and the last out of a Stagg 2008 bottle right now, neat. As several Stagg bottles have appeared to me this one also got better and better the further done I came.

My consumption always includes Wellers 107 and I also have open a bottle of EW black. Hard to beat it for $10/750. This weekend I opened a Lot B and OFBB 2005.

Having tried the 05 OFBB, I am on the hunt for an 02 and 06. This stuff is just BAM! Incredibly complex, taste of every description from every direction... it's... just something. This stuff reminds me of my pit beans: a complete meal going in every direction and still the same direction, all at once.

The Lot B is fantastic, but subtle. It's like that cute girl-next-door that never wears makeup but has a natural beauty, who is shy but whom you find out is a brilliant, enthusiastic, talented soul who looks far better naked than dressed and a fiend in the sack. Good stuff, but it takes a minute to understand it. Would be epic at 100 proof.

Then I have a bunch of crap open that I don't like and is not worth mentioning.

Getting ready for dinner with a very delicious Buffalo Trace mint julep. MJ's really are nice when finishing up a Summer weekend.

Last night was a momentous occasion - i cracked an Old Fitz BIB 1962 decanter with a good mate - my god this is the most wonderful and complex drop i have ever tasted! No wonder you more experienced members go on so much about SW juice, now i know why... unbelievable stuff!!!

Opened the 2009 FR Mariage a bit early in an effort to forget the end of the Bengal's game.

WOW... seriously good stuff! A nice combination of mature (19 yo) complexity without the excess oak and a more youthful (10 yo) exuberence. The usual FR floral tones but not as forward as in other iterations. And, at a drinkable barrel proof!

Had a couple pours last night to celebrate one of my buddies finding out that he's going to have a little girl for his first child! In his honor I had some ORVW 10/90, WTRB 99, and JRPS 17 year...a very good night with the last two pours being my first experience with them.

Some recently decanted (and improving) Old Fitz BIB.

Had a thought as I was sipping my EC 12 tonight. Don't let familiarity breed contempt.

Buffalo Trace. It has been a week since I've had anything to drink. While I'm still coughing every whip-stitch, I can now taste my food.... and this fine bourbon from the folks at BT.

I did pop open 2 uncut and unfiltered HH bourbons yesterday bottles by Cadenhead´s. One 9 years bottled 1996 and probably distilled right before the fire and one 15 years old bottled 2002. Both were good but the 15 was defiantly better. It was enormously sweet and intense with a spicy woody background. I will come back to that one!
